How It All Started

At Acceleration, we hope to help Kart racing grow and get the respect that it deserves. We understand there are many different levels of racing and each level has different needs, from the recreational racer to the future F-1 star. Acceleration has the parts and the knowledge to help our customers win races and have fun.

Acceleration was started by Curtis Cooksey in Las Vegas, NV. Curtis started kart racing when he was 18. After growing up motorcycle racing he was tired of injuries and knew that karting was much safer and would still fill his desire for speed and competition. He has over 20 years of Kart racing experience, including an IKF National Championship in the 125cc class in 1997, several trips to the Rotax World Finals with Team America, and several podiums in the SKUSA Pro Tour. When going to college for a business degree he knew he wanted to own his own business one day.  After helping build two major mail order kart shops while attending school he decided it was time to start his own in 1999. Over the years he has been able to create strong connections with major distributors and importers. This has made it possible to provide our customers with a great assortment of high quality products at a good price.
